Plot 9a First Street

Plot 9a Wide

Plot 9a First Street is a Net Zero Carbon, next-generation office building that will further extend the commercial opportunities available at First Street. This building will help the site continue to move towards the ambition of employment-led development.

Plot 9a has been fully let to the Government Property Agency. Minister Jeremy Quin broke ground on the Government Property Agency’s First Street Hub in March 2023. When the hub opens, 2,500 civil servants will be based in the new office, taking the total number of people working at First Street to around 6,000.

It’s great news for Manchester too as the move of civil service roles to the city is expected to generate £30m for every 1,000 government roles located here.

First Street is now established as a true mixed-use neighbourhood in the city centre combining offices, entertainment and amenities. With unrivalled public transport connectivity, a seasonal events programme and a thriving community, Plot 9a is the 4th phase of development to be brought forward and features winter gardens and roof terraces. The building has been designed with sustainability at its heart and will utilise the latest technologies to achieve Net Zero Carbon in operation standards with a 5.5* NABERS rating.
