In 2019, Oxford Road Corridor partners Bruntwood and The University of Manchester collborated on the a £50 million redevelopment of Alliance Manchester Business School. Now known as University Green, the old precinct is unrecognisable and has developed into a new green space surrounded by exciting food and drink outlets.
University Green is one of many pockets of green space found around Oxford Road, the lawns are a perfect space to soak up the sun during the summer months and the abundance of seating from the food and drink retailers make it ideal for socialising.
There are a couple of retailers on the green. Utlity Gift shop is a one stop shop for gift giving, Blackwell’s is a great bookshop and frequent host of literary events, and there’s a Co-op for all your grocery needs. The main attraction here is the food and drink offering with Bold Street Coffee and TAKK serving up some Manchester’s best breakfast and lunch options. There’s also BrewDog and Navarro Lounge for drinks, with branches of Five Guys and Pret round out the offer.
