The Refuge

As you’d expect from the name, The Refuge is a great spot to get away from the stresses of everyday life. The entrance is on the corner of the Kimpton Clocktower, where you’ll be welcomed by a cinema-style sign saying “Come As You Are”. It’s a welcoming space, as luxurious as it is friendly, providing a perfect space to relax, drink and dine.

In the restaurant, you can choose from a vast selection of small plates, inspired by countries from around the world. Some of the highlights include slow-cooked ox cheek, lamb shawarma and rib-eye on the bone for meat-lovers, plus an impressive array of vegetarian, vegan and seafood options.

You can enjoy afternoon tea in the stunning Winter Garden, a space full of natural light from the glass ceiling, and relaxing lush greenery all year round. For drinks, the splendid and spacious main bar has elegant seating and cocktails to match. This Victorian building is ideal for groups, whether you want to share a quick bite to eat before the theatre, a Sunday roast dinner for all the family, or even a glamorous brunch to celebrate those big occasions. The Refuge offers something special for visitors at all times of the day, from cosy sofas in their main area to high-class booths with beautiful decorations fit for the occasion. And if you want to go the extra mile, you can hire out The Den or a private dining area for a truly memorable experience.
