The Courtyard is a huge drinking spot you can find within an old redbrick mill on Chester Road, just off Oxford Road. During term-time it’s a very popular spot for students and locals thanks to its very reasonably priced drinks, cocktails here start from just £2.50 and you can get a pint for only 10 pence more.
The main attraction other than the price is that huge beer garden, we’ve not measured the square footage, but their claim to have the biggest in Manchester doesn’t seem far off the mark. Almost as generous as the outdoor seating is the number of screens showing sport, if you’re after a place to enjoy the Premier League or Six Nations, look no further.
Opening mid-morning and staying open until at least 1am most nights, The Courtyard is a convenient pub with a crowd-pleasing menu of burgers, loaded fries, chicken wings and tacos. The food is as well priced as the drinks and there are often offers on too. Whether you’re a student or a local trying to get value for money, someone who enjoys a good beer garden or just looking for a place to watch the match, The Courtyard is an easy recommendation.
