PrintCity is an innovative additive and digital manufacturing hub at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Working with various businesses and individuals, ranging from students and researchers to small companies and staff looking to upskill, PrintCity offers solid on-site support and industry connections within and beyond the University.
If you want to ‘go digital’ with your business, then PrintCity is the perfect place to start. All printed parts begin with a CAD file, and they have a dedicated CAD area with 32 powerful machines running Autodesk Fusion 360.
On-site, PrintCity boasts a large and varied range of 3D printers for manufacturing plastic and metal parts, coupled with facilities for investment casting of small metal parts such as jewellery. They also have a broad range of associated technologies, including scanning, laser welding and laser cutting. Their dedicated post-production area houses equipment to finish plastics and metals to ensure your designs are ready to go.
Education is at the heart of PrintCity, and they work across multiple disciplines within the University. Outside the University, PrintCity works with pupils and staff from schools and colleges to bring them up to speed about the latest technology. So, if you want to take your first steps into Computer-Aided Design, study for an advanced qualification or see your designs come to life, then PrintCity is where to go.
