Housed in a 120-year-old theatre, previously known as the Playhouse, which is located in the heart of Hulme, NIAMOS is a radical art and cultural centre. It was formed by a grassroots group of artistic Mancunians, driven by a commitment to reclaim this beautiful and historic building for the benefit of the local community, putting well-being and creativity at the heart of their work.
The theatre, which had been closed for 27 years, was re-opened as a community co-operative in 2018, since when it has been home to countless workshops, live gigs, conventions, concerts, exhibitions and community events.
