Yumi Zouma is a transcontinental indie-pop band, formed in New Zealand in 2013. Members Christie Simpson (vocals, keyboards), Josh Burgess (guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards), Charlie Ryder (guitar, bass, keyboards), and Olivia Campion (drums, joined 2017) now live across the globe, in Melbourne, London, New York, and Wellington.
The band first gained attention with their early EPs, EP I (2014) and EP II (2015), and have since recorded four albums — Yoncalla (2016), Willowbank (2017), Truth or Consequences (2020), and Present Tense (2022) — across cities including Paris, London, Florence, Los Angeles, and New Zealand.
Their latest album, No Love Lost To Kindness (2026), was created during writing sessions in Mexico City and produced by Josh Burgess and Charlie Ryder. With 12 tracks reflecting both their individual and collective growth, the band continues to explore the possibilities of long-distance collaboration, proving that geography is no barrier to creativity.
