Manchester Central will host the world’s best snooker players in April 2024, when the Tour Championship is staged in the city for the first time.

The tournament is one of the biggest on snooker’s global circuit. It will be the first world ranking event in the North West of England in four years, taking place at the historic Manchester Central venue in the heart of the city.

The tournament is the third and final event in the Players Series and brings together the season’s best players on current form. It has been a field of 8 players in recent years, but the 2024 edition will be expanded to 12. The top 4 will be seeded straight into the quarter-finals, with the other 8 to compete in the opening round.

The Magician Shaun Murphy won the title last season in Hull, beating Kyren Wilson 10-7 in the final.
