In October, Contact’s Artistic Director and CEO Keisha Thompson will present Halo, a new show inspired by the Halo Code; a campaign fighting for the protection and celebration of Black hair and hairstyles. It is going to be a raucous and musical embodiment of people’s hair journeys and experiences.
In the run-up to the show, Contact celebrate World Afro Day with an Afro Hair Workshop and Drink & Draw event on 15th of September. This is not just for people from the African and African diaspora. Contact is keen to encourage hairdressers, care workers, school teachers, etc. from all backgrounds to attend. Anyone who might be in a position where you have to style or assist someone with afro / curly hair.
