Fancy a bit of laid-back lunchtime listening? A calming break between lectures?

Grab yourself a brew or a bite to eat and relax in the Main Hall for a performance from folk duo Words from the Willow as part of The Cultural Welcome, a series of events offering students the chance to discover the rich arts, culture and heritage of the Oxford Road Corridor, 5–11 October 2026.

Words from the Willow, is made up of two singing cellists, Elena Edwards and Eva Jones. They formed in 2025 and blend music, visual artwork and storytelling to create a captivating and immersive experience.

As well as performing original compositions, the duo enjoys making their own arrangements of folk and folk-inspired music. They are enthusiastic about finding creative ways to perform music that was not originally written for their unusual instrument combination.

The performance will last an hour.

Words from the Willow appear by kind permission of the RNCM.
