Growing Northern Food Futures: Manchester’s AgTech Pioneers is a Thursday Gathering at Venture Café Manchester exploring how the North is shaping the future of food production through agricultural biotechnology and agtech innovation.

Greater Manchester is emerging as a hub for pioneering work in food systems, from lab-based scientific breakthroughs to field-ready technologies transforming how food is grown, managed and distributed.

This session brings together four companies driving that change — Bright Biotech, Gennate, Mushroom+ and SporeSense — each applying advances in biology, data and engineering to address challenges around food security, sustainability and productivity. Through short showcases and discussion, the event will explore how cutting-edge science is translated into scalable ventures, and how regional collaboration is accelerating impact.

The gathering invites researchers, entrepreneurs, growers, agronomists and policymakers to connect with innovators across the ecosystem and explore how cross-sector partnerships can help build a more resilient and sustainable food future.

In partnership with Nucleate.
