Un-Convention

The 106th Un-Convention will take place in person at the 02 Ritz, right here on the Oxford Road Corridor this July.

Un-Convention is a conference that brings together artists, professionals and organisations from the independent music sector. For this year’s edition, artists, managers, venues, labels and promoters including Frank Turner, Ed O’Brien from Radiohead and Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite will reflect on how the music industry and scenes have adapted to COVID-19 over the past 15- months and what lessons have learnt been learnt to ensure a brighter future.

Other headline artists include Laurie Vincent from Slaves, Sara Leigh Shaw from The Pearl Harts and Andy Carthy aka Mr Scruff. They’ll be joined by key industry champions such as Mark Davyd and Beverley Whitrick from the Music Venues Trust who will be contributing to panels on the current state of the independent sector along with representatives from the Association of Independent Festivals, Music Managers Forum, Music Publishers Association, Featured Artists Coalition and Musicians’ Union.

The independent music sector is key to Manchester, especially here on Oxford Road Corridor and we expect many to join Un-Convention for two days of inspiration, ideas and new opportunities.
