Turn at Contact
Maisha Kungu Dance

TURN returns to Contact for a single-night celebration of new dance from across the North West, presented by Word of Warning and Contact.

Fluidly lyrical, effervescently acrobatic and eccentrically innovative, this annual whirlwind invites audiences to experience a frenzy of contemporary dance as short works unfold throughout Contact’s building and its multiple spaces.

Now in its thirteenth edition, TURN is Greater Manchester’s open-call dance platform, showcasing up to ten short works in one night. It offers a vital opportunity for North West dancers and dance-makers to meet, share and peer-review work, while audiences encounter emerging ideas and fresh choreographic voices. Participating artists will be announced in early February, with the public platform followed by an artist development day for participants only.

First launched in 2009 and hosted at Contact since 2012, TURN continues to be a lively micro-festival and networking hub for dance-makers aged 18+ working across the North West, supported by a network of regional partners and Arts Council England.
