Trailblazers! Women of Greater Manchester

Trailblazers! Women of Greater Manchester is a family-friendly day of activities including badge-making, dressing up, memorial walks, street art design and badgemaking. In this event at Central Library, there will be short talks on important women including Louise Da-Cocodia, Ellen Wilkinson, Elizabeth Gaskell and Elizabeth Raffald. Kate Green MP will give the Margaret Ashton Memorial Lecture on ‘Women and Politics’ followed by a performance by the feminist band LittleSheGirls.

Register for the sections of the festival you would like to participate by following the booking link. You can just turn up on the day, but booking in advance is recommended.

Timetable for Trailblazers! Women of Greater Manchester:

1pm Womanchester Walk led by Steve Roman, starts from the Central Library
2-3 pm Family activities, badgemaking and talks on trailblazing women, Central Library Event Space
3pm Margaret Ashton Memorial talk on ‘Women and Politics’ given by Kate Green MP, Central Library Event Space
3.30 LittleSheGirls will perform ‘ As rare as hen’s teeth’ a mix of music, spoken word and visuals that celebrates women’s stories from past times. Central Library Performance Space
