Step into a wintry tale of magic and mystique as RNCM bring Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden to life for the very first time.

Sung in an English translation by Christopher Cowell, this well-known folklore tale tells of the mythical Snow Maiden and her desire to leave the icy grip of her parents, Father Frost and Mother Spring, to live amongst mortals in an isolated village.

Follow The Snow Maiden as she embarks on a transformational journey. From euphoria to pain, first love and marriage, her rite of passage into the mortal world unleashes a kaleidoscope of human emotions with monumental consequences.

A master of orchestration and operatic writing, you’ll be swept away in Rimsky-Korsakov’s delicate moments of intimacy, soaring romantic melodies and rousing choruses as our exceptional students breathe life into this rare operatic work.

Ignite your imagination and awaken your senses in a story that holds love, sacrifice, and human fragility at its core.
