The Slow Readers Club are Aaron Starkie (vocals) Kurtis Starkie (guitar) James Ryan (bass) and David Whitworth (drums).
They write anthemic, uplifting post punk alt-rock songs with sing-along choruses whilst being lyrically dark, political and thoughtful. Experiencing them play live tells you everything you need to know about them. In 2023 the band released their 6th studio album ‘Knowledge Freedom Power’ which reached No29 in the UK charts. “Their sound is timeless and classic, so big and anthemic. Most of their songs are instant anthems, you can see them playing stadiums in the future” John Kennedy, Radio X “The Slow Readers Club are quite simply too glorious to be kept a secret; see them, be seduced and then pass the pleasure on.” Louderthanwar
