Pankhurst Centre garden

Inspired by the eggstraordinary story of Emmeline Pankhurst’s former home as the birthplace of the suffragette movement, young visitors will be able to follow the Suffrage-egg Trail and decorate their own Emmeline Egg.

Join in, 11am to 4pm on Sunday 2 April, Thursday 6 AprilSunday 9 AprilThursday 13 April and Sunday 16 April.

The Suffrage-egg Trail will take visitors around the house to find out more about the Pankhurst family and other women involved in the suffragette movement, there are lots for young visitors to do along the way including the unmissable photo-opp of dressing up as a suffragette! Then it’s time to be creative and decorate a Suffrage-egg for Easter in purple, green and white, or however you want to show your colours!

The beautiful Pankhurst Centre garden, where the purple and white flowers will be coming into bloom for spring, will be open and refreshments will be served in the bitesize café (which can also be enjoyed in the garden when the weather is fine). A browse of the quirky Suffragette Shop is the perfect way to end your time at this remarkable site of history in the votes for women story.

Entry to the Pankhurst Centre is free, with visitors asked to consider making a donation of £5 to support the work of the Pankhurst Trust. You can book your tickets for Easter at the Pankhurst Centre here.

Throughout the year the Pankhurst Centre is open every Thursday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
