Strange Waves

Now Wave and Strange Days present a jam-packed line up some of the most hyped bands of the moment, sprawling across both floors of The Ritz. In the darkest depths of the lockdown, Now WAve and Strange Days dreamed about showcasing the creators of the year’s finest music, all in one venue, all on one day.

Finally, this April it’s happen at the Ritz in a line-up that features Dry Cleaning, a band that since releasing their debut album on 4AD have continued to win fans and acclaim en masse for their surreal, relatable snapshots of everyday neurosis. Prepare to dance, laugh and revel in the minutiae.

Sunflower Bean are an exquisite American indie-pop trio, a favourite of Shaun Keaveny who return with new track Baby Don’t Dry and their first UK dates since 2018.

Other acts include Now Wave favourites Iceage who play their first Manchester show since releasing the vivid and intoxicating, Seek Shelter. W.H Lung’s debut, Incidental Music was Piccadilly Records’ choice album of 2019 and their follow-up effort, Vanities is dancier, trippier and will surely push for similar honours. The Lounge Society are Speedy Wunderground faves and the best new band in Yorkshire – which is no small feat, these days.

Expect all these and more at Strange Waves at The Ritz.
