MM Stans Secret Santa Twitter Post

Stan, the T.rex who calls Manchester Museum his home, has been a little lonely since the museum closed its doors to complete the exciting hello future transformation. So lonely, in fact, that he has volunteered to host the museum’s ‘Secret Santa’.

Join Stan’s Secret Santa this Christmas as Manchester Museum open their Fossils Gallery for one day only and ask you to drop off donations for their Christmas Gift Appeal. We love this idea, hats off to Stan and the team at the museum. If giving something back this Christmas wasn’t enough, you’ll have a chance to take a #DinoSelfie with Stan himself.

All donated gifts will be carefully wrapped and then distributed by the Museum’s various Greater Manchester homelessness and poverty support organisation partners. This has been a difficult year for so many and Christmas presents further challenges.

For Stan’s Secret Santa he’s looking for unwrapped gifts to be donated, such as:

  • Chocolate (selection boxes)
  • Hot water bottles
  • Hot chocolate
  • Mugs
  • Christmas crackers
  • Sweets
  • Christmas decorations
  • Christmas fun activities
  • Puzzle books/books
  • Warm scarves/gloves

You could make a big difference to someone’s Christmas.

You will need to enter the Fossils Gallery via the Old Quad, through the Beyer Building. Just head through the University of Manchester archway and turn right.

We hear Stan is looking forward to seeing you soon. This gift appeal is in partnership with Invisible Cities.
