Step into a world where folklore, magic, and music intertwine. Witching Hour is a spellbinding live performance that merges classical, contemporary, and folk music with storytelling.

Created especially for the Cultural Welcome, this performance joins the RNCM’s Spotlight Series: free, bite-sized concerts that run throughout the year. Set in the cosy Carole Nash Recital Room, you can expect fresh ideas, original music, and plenty of space for our students to play with old traditions in new and surprising ways.

These events usually pop up in the early evening or just before a bigger performance, and they’re open to everyone – perfect for discovering something unexpected.

Witching Hour sees British folklore brought to life by string quartet, lever harp, and singer/narrator, alongside striking visual projections by Will Burns and Miriam Bean.

Join us before this performance as author Ceri Holbrook appears in conversation about her new book, co-written by Owen Davies, Folklore: A Journey Through the Past and Present, with Professor Melanie Giles.
