PUSH Festival returns in the New Year for our annual celebration of North West creative talent.
Over two weeks, our stages, screens and spaces will be dedicated to showcasing fantastic works from around the region, as well as offering opportunities for creatives to meet industry professionals, share ideas and inspiration and develop their skills.
The programme includes:
- LUCKY TONIGHT!: Afreena Islam-Wright blends storytelling and quizzing in this engaging theatre event (24-25 Jan).
- PlayMakers Takeover 2025: Box of Tricks gathers Northern playwrights for a day of creativity (25 Jan).
- PlayMakers Culture Café: A networking event for local writers and offstage creatives (25 Jan, 10:15).
- PlayMakers Blood Beats Social: A social space for LGBTQ+ writers and artists (25 Jan, 14:30).
- Physical Play Workshop: Explore ensemble-building through movement with Aiden Crawford (25 Jan, 11:30).
- Accelerate Showcase: New works from Northern playwrights aged 35+ (25 Jan, 16:00).
- Make Yourself at HOME Workshops: Explore various materials with Maisie Pritchard (26 Jan onwards).
- Bad Science: Switch_MCR’s satirical theatre on science and control (27-28 Jan).
- What is Love to a Goddess: Medea’s perspective in a scratch performance by Maz Hedgehog (28-29 Jan).
- Dementia Street: Smug Roberts’ one-man play on dementia and loss (29-30 Jan).
- Unhinged: A bold exploration of race, gender, and fractured perspectives (30-31 Jan).
- Millennial Pink: Girl Gang Manchester’s new play on 00s pop culture and identity (31 Jan-1 Feb).
- Motherkind: Stories of parenting and creativity by Mothers Who Make (1 Feb).
- Spit That Out 2025: A showcase of films by North-West artists (1 Feb).
- The Sustainable Travel Agency: Participatory audio performance with mini holidays (3-8 Feb).
- 111 More Time: Fictional theatre inspired by Nightline volunteer interviews (3 Feb, 20:30).
- A Divine Comedy: A work-in-progress about the rise of Harris Glen Milstead (4 Feb).
- Four Dholis and a Divorce: Hafsah Bashir’s poetic new performance (7-8 Feb).
- A-Hole & Propel x Dibby Theatre: Nathaniel J Hall’s hilarious new work-in-progress (8 Feb).
