Puma Blue is the alias of singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & producer Jacob Allen, from London & currently based in Atlanta. Originally finding recognition in the South London music scene for his falsetto vocal and dark, lo-fi textures, Puma Blue’s music is noted for a blend of intimate fragility, sensual grooves and haunting, nocturnal ambience.

His live shows are well regarded and often repeat-attended, performing with a band of close friends from home and blending jazz-influenced improvisation with a vocal energy often likened to Jeff Buckley. After early online acclaim with a couple of SoundCloud demos, he first gained wider attention with his EPs Swum Baby (2017) and Blood Loss (2018). His debut album In Praise Of Shadows was released in February 2021, followed by an hour-long concert-film A Late Night Special, which was met with high praise both for the visuals & performances.

A 2nd album Holy Waters is set for a September 1st release, preceded by singles Pretty and Hounds.

Alongside his own work, Jacob has produced beats for and frequently collaborated with friends & peers such as Loyle Carner, Biig Piig, Lava La Rue & long time confidant SALPA.

Jacob has previously cited Portishead, D’Angelo, Donny Hathaway, Radiohead, J Dilla, Burial, & John Frusciante amongst his biggest influences, and has also been known to make music under the monikers Ruby Bliels & Boss Nass, as well as short films that are available on his YouTube channel.
