To mark 80 years since the fifth meeting of the Pan African Congress – which was held in Manchester in 1945 – IWM has collaborated with Young Identity, Manchester’s acclaimed spoken-word poetry collective, to respond to the legacy and significance of the Congress.

Their words form the script of a new Big Picture Show, a 360-degree immersive cinematic experience at IWM North.

Join us for an evening of powerful live poetry performances, and the first full screening of the new show before its public release, all accompanied by food and drink served throughout the event. We’d love to welcome you as we celebrate the young poets work as part of our ongoing commitment to connecting with people across Manchester. It’s a chance to get to know the museum and share your thoughts.
