Morag Rose

Blackwell’s Manchester welcomes Morag Rose for a guided walking tour and discussion of her book The Feminist Art of Walking, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

The walk explores local streets and histories, highlighting how women claim public spaces and transform walking into an art form and act of resistance. Rose traces personal stories and urban experiences across Britain, showing how walking can reconnect us with our cities while celebrating diverse women who challenge exclusionary and exploitative spaces.

Morag Rose is a walking artist, activist, and academic based in Salford. She founded the Loiterers Resistance Movement, is chair of Our Irwell, and is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Liverpool. Her research focuses on access, inequality, and walking as a creative, social, and political act.
