Mary in the Junkyard bring their biggest Manchester headline show to date to Gorilla, continuing a rapid rise.
The London trio built their reputation through a relentless live schedule, including more than 20 appearances at Brixton’s Windmill, while early singles Tuesday and Ghost quickly attracted attention from publications including Rolling Stone UK, The FADER, Dazed, NME and The Face. Their debut EP, This Old House, was produced by XL Recordings founder Richard Russell and further cemented their status as one of the country’s most promising emerging acts.
Having played YES a couple of times in recent years, the band now steps up to the larger surroundings of Gorilla as they tour their debut album Role Model Hermit. The record has brought even wider recognition, led by the atmospheric single ‘Crash Landing’ and the driving, percussion-led ‘New Muscles’.
Blending folk, indie rock and experimental textures into something uniquely their own, Mary in the Junkyard returns to Manchester with growing momentum and a debut album that marks a significant new chapter for the band.
