Manchester Museum, in partnership with Creative Manchester, invites families to explore language through a fun, interactive trail. Designed to celebrate International Mother Language Day 2026, the activity encourages children and adults to engage with the museum’s collections while reflecting on their own languages.

Participants can collect an activity sheet and follow a language-themed trail around the museum, discovering stories, objects, and exhibits connected to linguistic diversity. Suitable for early years, primary school children, families, university staff and the general public, the event is free and offers several arrival time slots.

This hands-on trail combines creativity, learning and cultural exploration, making it an ideal way to spend a half-term afternoon celebrating language and communication.

Presented in partnership with Creative Manchester and Manchester Museum, and is part of the Manchester City of Literature International Mother Language Day celebrations.
