Blackwell’s hosts Leon Craig and Andrew Michael Hurley to discuss The Decadence and Saltwash, exploring gothic tension and dark histories.

Blackwell’s Manchester welcomes Leon Craig and Andrew Michael Hurley to discuss their latest novels The Decadence and Saltwash.

The Decadence follows a group of twenty-somethings who escape to an empty country house during lockdown, where interpersonal tensions and the house’s dark history blur the line between the supernatural and the real. Saltwash tells the story of pen-pals Tom and Oliver, drawn to a seaside hotel where other guests confront their pasts and seek redemption, raising questions about memory, identity, and morality.

Leon Craig is a writer whose work has appeared in The White Review, TLS, Another Gaze, and The London Magazine. Andrew Michael Hurley is an award-winning novelist, author of The Loney, Devil’s Day, and Starve Acre.
