Kurt Vile returns to O2 Ritz Manchester this September with The Violators, bringing his laid-back, richly textured take on American rock back to the city following his standout appearance at Manchester Psych Fest in 2022.
Widely regarded as one of the defining songwriters of his generation, Vile blends classic influences—from Neil Young to Tom Petty—with a distinctive, hazy introspection that has earned him global acclaim. His latest album, Philadelphia’s Been Good to Me, marks a deeply personal moment, celebrating his hometown while showcasing what he describes as his most organic and fully realised record to date.
On stage, Vile and The Violators—featuring longtime collaborators Jesse Trbovich, Rob Laakso and Kyle Spence—transform these recordings into expansive, immersive live performances. Expect shimmering guitars, hypnotic rhythms and a set that moves effortlessly between fan favourites and new material.
As ever, Vile’s live shows balance precision with spontaneity, offering a warm, unhurried energy that draws audiences in and holds them there.
