By Henrik Ibsen, version by Patrick Marber
Directed by Seán Aydon
Just married. Bored already. Hedda longs to be free…
This is the story of a woman so unhappy, she’ll set the world on fire just to watch it burn. Ibsen’s masterpiece is re-imagined for the 21st Century in this new version by Patrick Marber (Closer, After Miss Julie).
“Ibsen’s play is an eviscerating exploration of female rage. His visionary presentation of a truly unsympathetic female character was way ahead of his time and in this new version, it feels more relevant than ever. Watching Hedda is like watching a car crash in slow motion – horrifying and gripping in equal measure.”
— Seán Aydon, director.
Suitable for ages 16+.
