Heather Mottershead & Jessie Elland

Blackwell’s Manchester welcomes Heather Mottershead and Jessie Elland to discuss their novels No Women Were Harmed and The Ladie Upstairs in conversation with Emma Hinds.

No Women Were Harmed follows Lily, who has lived her life under the shadow of death, and faces mysterious disappearances she cannot explain. The Ladie Upstairs tells the story of Ann, a scullery maid who becomes a lady’s maid at Ropner Hall, only to discover sinister secrets lurking above stairs. Both novels are dark, twisted, and explore ambition, desire, and unsettling mysteries.

Heather Mottershead, winner of the Daily Mail First Novel competition, lives in Shropshire. Jessie Elland is an actress and author from the North East of England.
