Goon perform at YES in March in support of their new album, Dream 3. The Los Angeles–based indie and psych-rock band is led by songwriter and visual artist Kenny Becker.
Across their releases, Goon have developed a sound that blends lo-fi indie rock with psychedelic textures, combining melodic songwriting with distortion, atmosphere and restraint. Becker’s work often centres on themes of longing, uncertainty and emotional distance, shaped by a DIY recording approach and an interest in texture and mood.
Following early releases including Dusk of Punk and Happy Omen, Goon expanded into a full band project, releasing albums that balance intimacy with heavier, more expansive arrangements. Dream 3 continues this trajectory, focusing on hazy structures, layered guitars and understated vocals, and marking a further step in the band’s evolution.
Goon have built a reputation as a compelling live act, translating the subtle shifts and contrasts of their recordings into a focused band performance. The YES show will feature material from Dream 3 alongside songs from earlier releases.
