Florry are a Philadelphia-formed rock band led by songwriter Francie Medosch. Emerging from the city’s DIY scene, the group combines guitar-led rock with elements of alt-country, folk and indie, shaped by a large, shifting line-up of collaborators.
The band first gained wider attention with their Dear Life Records debut The Holey Bible, followed by extensive touring across North America and Europe. Their second album, Sounds Like…, was recorded in late 2023 at Drop of Sun Studios in the Blue Ridge Mountains with producer Colin Miller, whose work includes records by MJ Lenderman, Wednesday and Merce Lemon. The sessions built on material developed earlier by the band and capture Florry in a more fully realised band format.
Sounds Like… focuses on collective performance and songwriting, balancing loose, road-tested arrangements with detailed lyrics. Medosch’s writing draws on classic rock forms while remaining rooted in contemporary DIY culture and community-focused spaces.
Florry’s live line-up includes members of bands such as Sadurn, Son of Barb, Doll Spirit Vessel and Bark Culture, reflecting their place within a broader North American DIY network. The band have previously toured with artists including Kurt Vile, Real Estate, MJ Lenderman, Greg Freeman and Fust.
Their shows centre on extended arrangements, interplay between musicians and an approach shaped by years of touring, presenting material from Sounds Like… alongside earlier work.
