Festive Fun at the Museum
Fill up on festive joy during an evening of fun and frolics at Manchester Museum. From market stalls and a winter concert to reindeer racing and sing-alongs, the museum has everything you need to immerse yourself in the season’s spirit.

Family activities will run throughout the evening, so come along in your best festive fancy dress (Christmas jumpers are also permitted) and enjoy the museum after dark.

Highlights of the evening will include performances from the incredible young students of Olympias Music Foundation. Their annual Winter Concert will fill the atmospheric Living Worlds gallery with all the best sounds of the season. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of 125 children who have completed another term of music lessons with Olympias Music Foundation and will showcase their Children’s Voices and Youth Voices choirs and the newly-formed Olympias Music Foundation Orchestra.

Up on the top floor, students from Pinc College, which provides creative study programme pathways for neurodivergent young people, will host a Christmas market, giving you a chance to learn about their creative practice and stock up on gifts.

In the grotto with a twist, Sour Santa will be waiting to see if you can put a smile on his face, while the bar will be open in the Main Hall, where festive videos will be on the big screen to encourage folks onto the dance floor. There will also be games to try, including reindeer racing.

Even The Museum’s beloved T. rex Stan will be getting involved by donning his giant Santa hat. So, what’s your excuse?
