Elizabeth Gaskell’s Secondhand Book Sale at Elizabeth Gaskell's House

This book sale is held regularly on the second Sunday of every month at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House. Described as ‘Manchester’s best second-hand book sale’ by one visitor it is a popular and favourite destination for book lovers.

There are two rooms packed full of second-hand books of all genres, including a wide variety of contemporary fiction, art, gardening, photography, classics, OS maps, biographies, history, cookery, social history and children’s books! With new stock every month there are treasures to be found with prices from £1 for a paperback.

Social distancing measures are in place; pre-booking is essential; numbers are limited to ensure social distancing and the wearing of face masks is mandatory. All visitors browsing books are asked to use hand sanitiser before handling the books.
