MLF25: Elizabeth Alker

Elizabeth Alker, BBC Radio 3 broadcaster and author, explores the surprising connections between classical composers and modern pop in her new book Everything We Do is Music.

From Paul McCartney to John Cage, Nils Frahm to Stockhausen, Alker traces how visionary composers influenced generations of musicians and shaped the sound of contemporary music.

Drawing on exclusive interviews with Sir Paul McCartney, Steve Reich, Jonny Greenwood, and Soweto Kinch, she reveals a rich, genre-blurring tapestry of inspiration. The event will be hosted by BBC6 Music broadcaster and DJ Deb Grant.
