Double Agents

FACT and Manchester Metropolitan University’s School of Digital Arts (SODA) present Double Agents: Play and Performance in Digital Worlds, a monthly evening seminar series exploring the social, political and cultural impacts of advanced digital technologies.

Running from January to April 2026 and hosted at SODA, the series brings together artists, curators and researchers from FACT and SODA, creating a space for critical exchange between Liverpool and Manchester.

This event is hosted by Professor Kirsty Fairclough and features Rachel Maclean and Adinda van ’t Klooster. Rachel Maclean is a leading contemporary artist known for her bold, satirical use of digital media to examine identity, power and authorship, including her major FACT exhibition They’ve Got Your Eyes. Adinda van ’t Klooster is an international digital artist working across animation, VR, interactive sculpture and generative audiovisual performance, with work exhibited worldwide.

Together, the speakers discuss creative practice, self-representation and experimentation in the age of artificial intelligence and immersive digital technologies.
