Digital Skills Festival

The week-long festival brings together businesses, educators, tech professionals and future tech talent for a programme of events and activities designed to strengthen Manchester’s digital skills ecosystem.

The flagship event of the festival is Talent Day, the largest tech careers fair in the North where over 2,000 students, graduates, career changers and jobseekers can connect with talent acquisition teams from 50 of the region’s top tech employers. 2024’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever as the event moves to Bridgewater Hall, offering an invaluable opportunity for Greater Manchester’s tech talent pipeline to make long-lasting connections with companies hiring hundreds of digital and tech roles across the city.

New for 2024 is Digital Her Day on 8 February, shining a spotlight on women working in digital and technology roles. Digital Her Day will feature talks, workshops, networking events and activities aimed at empowering women to progress their tech careers and addressing gender imbalance in the industry.

Katie Gallagher, managing director of Manchester Digital, said: “Our festival brings together the leading tech businesses across the North West, to showcase careers in the tech industry, but to also ensure we’re having conversations around the future of the tech industry. Generative AI is already changing how we work so its vital we stay on top of changing job roles and skills requirements.

“Overall, the tech industry in our region continues to flourish and grow, and it provides an amazing opportunity for social mobility and a truly rewarding career.”

The 2024 Digital Skills Festival is supported by headline sponsor Auto Trader. Manchester City Council returns as Strategic Partner and Bruntwood SciTech returns as a Venue Sponsor. Further sponsors will be announced over the coming weeks.
