DAIISTAR arrive in Manchester fresh from a whirlwind rise that’s been anything but typical. Born in the stillness of lockdown, the Austin quartet emerged quietly—but their debut album Good Time landed like a bolt of fuzz-drenched lightning.
With production from Alex Maas of The Black Angels and a release on cult UK label Fuzz Club, the record instantly marked them as a band to watch.
Rooted in shoegaze, neo-psych, and the sun-warped echoes of Madchester, their sound is punchy and purposeful—ten tracks, thirty-three minutes, no filler. It’s a confident distillation of influences like The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, and Spacemen 3, delivered with the clarity of a band who know exactly what they want to hear.
Following shows with The Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre, DAIISTAR return to the UK with a new Fuzz Club Session LP on the way—recorded aboard a floating studio on the Thames and due out this September. Expect road-tested intensity, propulsive grooves, and guitar tones that swirl, fuzz, and soar.
If their debut whispered of something special, their live show confirms it. This is psych for the present tense—loud, lean, and locked-in.
