Bournemouth-born and now Manchester-based, Chloe Slater is quickly becoming a compelling new voice in UK alternative music. Finding her feet in the city’s open mic scene and now working closely with producer Jack Shute, she’s channelled that grassroots energy into a debut EP that feels both sharp and self-assured.
You Can’t Put A Price On Fun blends Chloe’s dry wit with a lo-fi, indie-pop cool, touching on themes of youth, politics, and everyday frustration. Tracks like Nothing Shines On This Island deliver a punchy critique of British life, while 24 Hours leans into soaring alt-pop hooks. The standout Price On Fun earned her BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week on Radio 1, and her recent appearance in NME’s Radar column only adds to the growing attention.
Chloe recently made her Glastonbury debut via the BBC Music Introducing stage and joined Courtney Barnett on tour, building momentum through a mix of honest lyricism, disarming humour, and a sound that’s both current and unmistakably her own.
Catch her at Gorilla as she continues a breakthrough year, bringing stories, grit, and sharp-edged songwriting to a stage that feels ready-made for her next step.
