This December, a light installation is coming to First Street in the shape of a group of life-sized Polar Bears. The installation, named Celebration, has been created by Denton-based artist, Liam Hopkins aka Lazerian.

The largest polar bear is 5m long, almost 2m wide and 2.5m tall with smaller sculptures surrounding it, all are lit with LED’s will give visitors to First Steet a magical, winter wonderland experience. The inspiration for the piece comes from the animal’s characteristics. Polar Bears only tolerate others in proximity if there is a good food source nearby and First Street has that in abundance with HOME’s First Floor Restaurant, WOOD and Indian Tiffin Room closeby with a number of excellent drinking spots including Junk Yard Golf and Bunny Jackson’s to name but a few.
