MLF25: Caroline Bird & Rachel Long

Caroline Bird and Rachel Long present an evening of poetry celebrating love in all its forms with the launch of their new anthology, Something New: Alternative Poems for Alternative Weddings.

This joyful and unconventional collection embraces the chaos of modern love, offering fresh and funny alternatives to traditional wedding readings. Guests will hear Bird and Long read from the anthology and share work that honours love’s complexity, honesty, and joy, in settings that span yurts, registry offices, and even karaoke machines.

Caroline Bird is an award-winning poet, winner of the Forward Prize for Best Collection, and the author of several acclaimed works including The Air Year. Rachel Long, founder of the Octavia Poetry Collective, is the author of My Darling from the Lions, shortlisted for the Rathbones Folio Prize and Costa Poetry Award.
