Placing Spaces: exploring place-based entanglements through creative technologies presents Harry’s ongoing work with his daughter Poppy, young people, and migrant mothers in Bristol.
Using 3D scanning, recorded audio, and location-based AR, the project documents participants’ attachments to local places and creates immersive locative AR experiences for audiences.
Harry is an artist-researcher and Lecturer in Digital Theatre and Performance-Making at the University of Bristol. His research explores live art, photography, documentation, digital art, and immersive technologies, including site-specific AR and VR performance. He was Digital Thinker in Residence at the National Theatre of Scotland (2018–19) and Research Associate on the Walking Publics / Walking Arts project (2021–22) at the University of Glasgow. Harry is currently writing The Expanded Dramaturgies of Virtual Reality Performance for Methuen’s Performance and Digital Cultures series.
