British Street Food is partnering with GRUB, the people behind Contact Bar & Kitchen and one of Manchester’s top street food operators, to host the Northern Heat of the 2022 British Street Food Awards at Circle Square. Taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, it’s the last regional heat before the U.K. grand final in September, food fans will have a chance to sample some of the best street food traders from across the region as well as drinks from North Brewing Co’s pop-up bar.

The British Street Food Awards heats are famous for their foody line-up, which this year includes Unagi, Porco, Kara’s Kitchen, Archchi’s, Posh Street Food, Shoot The Bull, Ted’s tacos, Skullduggery, Pellizco and DOSA. The public is invited to Circle Square to eat, drink and vote all weekend to select the People’s Choice, while Claire Kelsey from Afflecks Palace’s own Ginger’s Comfort Emporium (a previous winner of an award) heads a panel to choose the overall Champion.

Hot on the heels of being named one of the best street food venues for summer by National Geographic and launching Contact Bar & Kitchen, GRUB is hosting this next event across the city from their home venue at Red Bank.

The British Street Food Awards is a great excuse to explore Manchester’s newest neighbourhood, Circle Square, now home to some of the city’s most exciting independent restaurants and bars including Bird of Prey, Hello Oriental, and Canvas.
