Black Grape burst onto the scene in the mid-1990s, blending indie, funk, hip-hop, and electronic influences into a signature sound that was both chaotic and celebratory. Formed by Shaun Ryder and Bez after the Happy Mondays, the band’s 1995 debut album It’s Great When You’re Straight…Yeah went straight to No. 1, delivering anthems like ‘Reverend Black Grape’ and ‘In the Name of the Father’.
Now, 30 years on, Black Grape return to Manchester Academy to celebrate this iconic album with what will inevitably be a bouncing homecoming show.
