Black Gold Arts x Whitworth Takeover at The Whitworth

August kicks off on Oxford Road with the Black Gold Arts x Whitworth Takeover. Since 2015, Black Gold Arts has established itself as a leading platform in the North West for showcasing and commissioning new work by Black and global majority artists. This weekend they’re taking over the Whitworth for a two-day outdoor music and arts festival showcasing the very best, live music, DJs, dance, performance and fashion (there’s even a catwalk).

Their work has received critical national acclaim, presenting work as diverse as dance, theatre, exhibitions, vogue balls, and immersive film screenings.

Since 2015, Black Gold Arts has successfully delivered 7 festivals, featuring 45 events with 100+ artists across arts venues, showcasing Black and ethnically diverse artists, and reaching an audience of over 25,000.
