Anish Kumar, a rising talent in the UK electronic music scene, brings his soulful and forward-facing productions to YES Basement.
Since releasing his debut EP Postcards in 2022, Kumar has earned recognition from artists including Four Tet, Bonobo, Daphni, Danny Howard, and Pete Tong, and has been featured on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix and Spotify’s RADAR programme.
Drawing on influences from Northern soul to classic Bollywood, Kumar weaves analogue warmth and textured sampling into his music. His DJ sets have taken him to major festivals such as Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Lost Village, and Field Day, as well as repeated bookings at venues like The Warehouse Project and Printworks.
In 2025, Kumar sold out his debut headline show at Peckham’s Carpet Shop in 30 minutes and released Kino, a two-part collaboration with DJ Hagop Tchaparian. His performances continue to showcase tracks honed through international club and festival appearances, bringing a unique energy to the dancefloor.
