A four-day innovation sprint to help you tackle critical challenges using cutting-edge digital manufacturing technologies.

Got a complex challenge you can’t solve? Want to explore how emerging technologies such as AI and 3D printing can streamline your operations or create new products?

The Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMMIC) is launching a series of fully funded workshops aimed to help the region’s manufacturing sector to utilise cutting-edge tech to implement new products or services.

Over four intensive days, you’ll:

  • Identify and develop solutions to real business problems
  • Apply emerging technologies like automation, smart sensors, additive manufacturing and digital twins
  • Rapidly prototype and test ideas with minimal risk
  • Receive structured support to help you innovate at pace
  • Build internal innovation capacity — and leave with a clear action plan

Save these dates in your diary:

30 April 2026: discovery

  • Uncover your internal opportunities for innovation, and turn your pain points into a specific problem statement.

7 May 2026: refine and validate

  • Validate early concepts, including reviewing prototypes and taking a tech deep dive.

14 May 2026: shape value and secure buy-in

  • Define a clear value proposition, more tech deep dives, prototyping and pilot test.

21 May 2026: enable change

  • Readying for implementation and change management through creating an action plan.

All sessions will take place from 9:30am – 4pm at Manchester Metropolitan University’s award-winning 3D additive and digital manufacturing centre, PrintCity.
