Abel Selaocoe with Bantu Ensemble

Internationally acclaimed cellist and vocalist Abel Selaocoe returns to RNCM with his genre-blending Bantu Ensemble for an electrifying performance that fuses African musical traditions with Western classical influences.

A leading force in redefining the cello’s role on the global stage, Selaocoe’s work is rooted in heritage, innovation, and storytelling.

Joined by players from the RNCM String Quartet Studio, the ensemble performs music from their album Hymns of Bantu, where traditional songs sit alongside works by Bach and Marais. The result is a deeply expressive and boundary-breaking experience that speaks to shared histories and the universality of music.

A celebrated alumnus and Honorary Associate Artist of RNCM, Selaocoe continues to inspire with music that transcends genres and generations.
